Nik Chawla Attorney and Co-Founder

Nik, a lifelong North County San Diego resident, brings well over a decade of legal experience and a deep understanding of the local community. Raised in Encinitas and Carlsbad, he has seen the region evolve over the past five decades and continues to call Carlsbad home.

After earning a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from UC San Diego (UCSD), Nik worked in biotech and IT startups before pursuing law at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he excelled in legal writing and research.

Nik began his legal career in family law, helping clients navigate divorce through a collaborative approach. He later shifted his focus to consumer bankruptcy, where he has helped file more than 2,000 Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy cases. Nik has also represented clients before the Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.

Admitted to practice law in the State of California and in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern and Central Districts of California, Nik is dedicated to providing personalized, effective solutions for clients facing stressful financial challenges. Even though Nik’s full legal first name is “Nikhil” he often goes by Nik.
